During the visit to Addis Ababa, Mr. Qalibaf engaged in discussions with Ethiopian Parliament Speaker Tagesse Chafo aimed at strengthening economic, political, and parliamentary cooperation, particularly in eliminating barriers to private sector involvement.
In their dialogues, Mr. Qalibaf emphasized the significance of establishing an Ethiopian embassy in Tehran as a critical move towards enhancing bilateral economic and political relations. He referred to the recent release of four Ethiopian sailors from Iranian custody, highlighting that a diplomatic mission in Tehran could streamline such processes.
Moreover, Mr. Qalibaf recognized Ethiopia’s pivotal role in contributing to regional stability and security in East Africa. Since the 1970s, Iran and Ethiopia have maintained a cooperative bond, with mutual interests in advancing economic, political, and cultural relations.
