Iran strongly condemns Israeli threats against its passenger plane traveling to Lebanon, citing violations of international law. The incident has caused the cancellation of flights, leading to public protests in Beirut. Iranian officials reject alternative flight proposals from Lebanon and stress the importance of resuming direct flights. There are ongoing discussions between the two governments to reach a resolution.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman has condemned Israel’s threat against an Iranian passenger plane carrying Lebanese citizens, describing it as a clear violation of international law and Lebanese sovereignty. Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the Israeli threat has disrupted regular flights to Beirut Airport, leading to the cancellation of two flights from Iran to Lebanon, pressured by the Lebanese Roads Minister, who acted under Israeli influence.
Baghaei has called for urgent action from international bodies, especially the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), to halt what he termed as dangerous Israeli actions jeopardizing the safety and security of Iranian aviation. The refusal to permit Iranian flights to land resulted in significant public protests around Beirut’s International Airport, where demonstrators blocked access and expressed their discontent by setting tires ablaze, chanting anti-US and anti-Israeli slogans.
Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut, Mojtaba Amani, emphasized that Tehran will not accept the Lebanese government’s proposal for alternative flights for Iranian planes. While he supports the establishment of Lebanese airline services to Iran, he stressed that this should not hinder Iranian flights, indicating that negotiations are ongoing to establish a favorable agreement between the two nations.
Amani highlighted the adverse effects of flight cancellations on Lebanese pilgrims, who found themselves stranded in Tehran. He expressed discontent towards the Israeli threats directed at Lebanon, condemning them as unacceptable and likely to incite further public protests, while hoping for a swift resolution and prudent action from the Lebanese government.

The cancellations of flights have resulted in significant turmoil, prompting public protests in Lebanon. Iranian officials demand a resolution and criticize any measures that obstruct Iranian air travel to Lebanon, highlighting the need for cooperation between the two nations.
