Qatar Supports New Syrian Administration’s Efforts for Stability and Unity

She highlighted Qatar’s recent official visit by HH the Amir to Syria, signifying restored diplomatic relations and support for Syria’s unity and sovereignty.

Her Excellency emphasized that this transformative period represents an opportunity for the Syrian populace to realize their aspirations for freedom and justice, contingent upon establishing a national army inclusive of all societal segments. This unity is vital for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Highlighting humanitarian efforts, Qatar has established an air bridge for aid delivery, dispatching 378 tons of supplies through military aircraft. Additionally, Qatar and Turkiye have jointly initiated “Al Amal City” in northern Syria to provide housing for displaced individuals, complete with necessary services.

Her Excellency urged the international community to intensify humanitarian aid efforts and called for an easing of sanctions impacting the Syrian population negatively. She insisted that such sanctions’ rationale no longer applies, advocating for full support to humanitarian initiatives.

Lastly, Qatar condemned the Israeli occupation regarding the buffer zone with Syria, labeling it as a serious breach of Syrian sovereignty and international law. Her Excellency insisted on the necessity for the international community to hold the occupiers accountable, thereby promoting peace and stability in the region.
