The Jamaica Rifle Association (JRA) successfully hosted a leg of the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Grand Prix series this past weekend. This year-long series, which runs parallel to the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Grand Prix series, showcased remarkable talent across various divisions, culminating in an exhilarating day at the shooting range.
The event featured five divisions: Limited, Production, Open, Limited Optics, and Carry Optics, all of which presented intense live-fire competitions on Saturday afternoon. At the end of the day, scores released by Range Master Rohan Wilson revealed Ryan Bramwell leading the Limited Optics division with a secure score of 789 match points, followed by Petrano Belafonte at 705 and Marlon Stephenson, who finished third with 513 points.
In the Production division, the competition was particularly close, with World Shoot contender Anthony Johnson achieving the top position with 709 points. He narrowly surpassed Josimar Clarke and Rohan Wallace, who scored 706 and 640 points, respectively. Meanwhile, in the Open division, traditional frontrunner Alrice Palmer had to settle for third place as Alvin Amore secured first place, with Ekpedeme Otuokon in second.
