Allegations were tied to comments from a Syrian customs official, who stated that the investment agreement was canceled due to the company’s non-compliance with infrastructure commitments agreed upon in 2019.
Dmitry Trifonov, CEO of STG Engineering, clarified that the company was still actively managing the port and had not been informed of any annulment. He explained that terminating such an agreement would necessitate a formal process through both the parliament and the president, thereby deeming any current statements as baseless.
