Oriole Resources PLC announced promising drilling results from its Mbe gold project in Cameroon, showcasing significant gold potential. CEO Martin Rosser expressed satisfaction with the latest findings, which include high-grade intersections and crucial structural data, facilitating further exploration. The project, in partnership with BCM International, remains on course, with anticipated results due in 2025.
Oriole Resources PLC (AIM: ORR) has emphasized the substantial potential of its Cameroon gold project, following promising drilling outcomes from the Mbe gold project. CEO Martin Rosser expressed satisfaction with the recent results, which indicate a strong likelihood of gold presence in the area.
The drilling activity revealed a high-grade interval of 4.24 meters at 7.7 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold in hole MBDD003, including a notable 1.72 meters at 18 g/t. Rosser remarked, “We are very pleased with these latest results, which continue to highlight the project’s tremendous potential.” The preliminary findings indicate multiple instances of lower-grade mineralization.
The ongoing drilling campaign at the MB01-S target has reached over 30% completion, totaling approximately 2,200 meters drilled across seven holes. The results confirm that gold mineralization extends for at least 200 meters horizontally and around 290 meters vertically. Hole MBDD004, although delivering fewer mineralized intersections, also provided critical structural data.
In terms of results, MBDD004 encountered intersections such as 3.00 meters at 0.99 g/t and 4.60 meters at 0.53 g/t. While these results were not as robust, Rosser stated, “The purpose of the two pairs of scissor holes was to provide key geological structural information.” This reinforces the study’s aim of improving the geological model.
The company has completed two additional drill holes and has initiated a third, with results anticipated by Q2 2025. Oriole Resources is focusing on high-grade sections within broader lower-grade envelopes as it modifies its exploration strategies based on emerging data.
Holding a 90% interest in the Mbe project, Oriole Resources is executing a fully funded maiden drilling program in collaboration with BCM International, which has acquired a 10% stake and may increase it through an investment of up to $4 million in exploration.
In summary, Oriole Resources’ advancements at the Mbe gold project, including significant drilling results and a solid exploration strategy, highlight the project’s potential for substantial gold resources. The ongoing campaign, partly funded in partnership with BCM International, aims to refine geological understanding and further define high-value areas within the property.
