Oriole Resources has reported promising drilling results from the Mbe gold project in Cameroon, confirming substantial gold mineralization at various depths. CEO Martin Rosser discussed the strategic drilling program aimed at refining the geological model and enhancing exploration efforts in partnership with BCM International, which is financially supporting the project.
Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) has expressed optimism regarding the Mbe gold project in Cameroon, following the latest drilling results. Chief Executive Martin Rosser shared that drill hole MBDD003 revealed significant findings, including 4.24 metres at 7.7 grams per tonne of gold, with a notable interval of 1.72 metres at 18 grams per tonne. These results underscore the project’s considerable potential for gold mineralization.
The drilling campaign at the MB01-S target has progressed to over 30% completion, totaling approximately 2,200 metres across seven holes. The findings have confirmed gold mineralization over a strike length of at least 200 metres and to a vertical depth of around 290 metres. Despite lower-grade results from hole MBDD004, it provided essential structural data critical for refining the geological model.
Rosser emphasized that while MBDD004 did not yield the highest grades as anticipated, its purpose was to enhance the understanding of the geological structure. The scissor hole drilling strategy aimed at acquiring valuable geospatial information, which will aid in adjusting drilling methodologies and improving the geological model for the project.
Currently, two additional drill holes are completed, with a third underway, and results are anticipated in the second quarter of 2025. Oriole Resources aims to target high-grade gold zones within extensive lower-grade envelopes, utilizing the new data to inform its exploration strategy. The company, owning 90% of the Mbe project, is conducting this maiden drilling program in partnership with BCM International.
BCM International has acquired an initial 10% interest in the project and may earn up to an additional 40% through a commitment of $4 million in exploration expenditures. Rosser conveyed the company’s eagerness to review incoming results, further affirming the project’s potential for substantial gold mineralization.
Oriole Resources is optimistic about the Mbe gold project in Cameroon, highlighting significant drilling results that showcase its potential. The company continues to refine its geological model through strategic drilling efforts, with future results expected to further inform exploration strategies. The partnership with BCM International solidifies the project’s financial backing, enhancing the prospects of uncovering substantial gold deposits.
