The Nigerian Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has emphasized Nigeria’s dedication to executing memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed with the China Media Group. These agreements aim to enhance collaboration with the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, which were established during the recent Forum on China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing.

Ambassador Yu Dunhai expressed his eagerness to develop the existing ties between Nigeria and China. He acknowledged Nigeria’s commitments to growth under President Tinubu and noted that China is similarly focused under President Xi Jinping. Ambassador Dunhai highlighted the agreement reached at FOCAC to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at progressing bilateral relations.
The Ambassador also remarked on President Xi Jinping’s pledge of $50 billion for investment in Africa over the next three years, forming part of the MoUs signed during the recent FOCAC. He emphasized the crucial role of media in shaping society, identifying the importance of implementing the signed agreements.
