The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed appreciation for Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago’s decision to reinstate Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) in Niger State’s public schools. Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, the Chairman of CAN, underscored the Governor’s intention to benefit all citizens regardless of their religious affiliations. This decision was revealed during a meeting with Christian community leaders, including the Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Hon. Afiniki Dauda.
Governor Bago noted that CRK’s inclusion in the curriculum aims to instill a sense of morality and responsibility in children, stating that it will be mandatory for Christian students in public schools. He emphasized the necessity of fostering family values, which have been overshadowed by social vices.
