The explosion took place when a tanker truck carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) lost control on a poorly maintained road, causing it to spill fuel into a nearby stream. This fuel ignited a fire while farmers were working, leading to a massive explosion that engulfed the farmland, destroying crops and vegetation, as explained by Hussaini.
The deceased have been identified as Rafiatu Sahabi, Ramlat Shehu, Rashida Abdullahi Raliya, Abdulrahaman, Zainab Ahmed, Zuwaira Idrisu, and Maryam A. Nura. Additionally, Maimuna Isah, one of the farmers, sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at Saho Rami Primary Health Care.
