A native of Danghara district in Khatlon province, Rahmonali received military training at the Higher Military-Political Construction School in Tallinn, Estonia. He joined the National Army in 1992 and became Commander of the National Guard in 2004. After overseeing the National Guard for nine years, he advanced to his roles at the SCNS and Border Troops.
During his tenure as Commander of the Border Troops, Rahmonali faced significant challenges, particularly with border conflicts in Tajikistan’s northeast and south. He actively addressed the issues of illegal crossings and threats posed by militant groups from Afghanistan, especially after the Taliban regained power.
