Iraq’s 2025 budget is expected to be presented to Parliament before March concludes. This follows a consensus among relevant authorities, with the Ministry of Finance preparing budget tables for approval. A senior official affirmed the existence of a governmental-parliamentary consensus regarding Iraq’s 2025 budget, anticipating its presentation to Parliament by the end of March. Mudher Mohammad Saleh, the financial and economic advisor to the Prime Minister, stated that the Parliamentary Finance Committee, the Council of Ministers, and the Ministry of Finance are in agreement on the budget tables.
According to Article 77/Second of the 2023 General Budget Law, the Ministry of Finance is mandated to provide annual budget schedules, which include modifications to both operating and capital expenditures. Saleh elaborated that these budget tables will require discussion and approval by the Council of Ministers prior to their submission to Parliament.
Additionally, the advisor indicated that the budget schedules should reach Parliament before the conclusion of Ramadan, which aligns with the end of this month. Earlier, a member of the Shiite Coordination Framework confirmed that the Ministry of Finance is expected to send the budget tables to the Cabinet within the week for deliberation and voting.
The 2025 budget for Iraq is poised for submission to Parliament, with a governmental consensus established among key authorities.
