Eight talented Kazakh female boxers reached the finals at the prestigious Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament held in Budva, Montenegro. This event marks a return to international boxing in Budva, following the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships which took place last October and November. The tournament features competitors born in 2007 and 2008 across 12 women’s and 13 men’s weight categories, representing powerhouse nations, including Russia, Kazakhstan, and Turkey.
Kazakhstan’s Rakhmina Abdumezhitova made an impressive mark by defeating Turkey’s Rabia Eylul Duman in the flyweight (52kg) semi-finals. Abdumezhitova showcased a strategic performance against the experienced Turkish boxer and is set to compete for the title against Russia’s Junior World Champion, Snezhana Kuznetsova.
In the women’s featherweight (57kg), Aknur Tursyngali continued her strong performances, eliminating Russia’s Arina Kuzmicheva. Regina Tibenyova also advanced by besting Belarus’ Natalia Nasachova. The two Kazakh boxers will meet in an anticipated final.
Alina Kudaigenova, a recognized ASBC Champion, arrived in Budva as a favorite in the women’s light welterweight (63kg). She demonstrated her refined technical skills by defeating Turkey’s Elif Elden and will face Russia’s Irina Korobova for the championship title in her category.
In the women’s welterweight (66kg), ASBC Asian Junior silver medallist Akbota Yessimbekova maintained her winning streak against Azerbaijan’s Ozlam Hasanova, securing a spot in the finals. She will compete against fellow Kazakh Aisulu Mukhit, who has also shown remarkable performance by defeating Russia’s Maria Mashnikova.
Mariya Sidorenko, returning to Budva after a four-month hiatus, progressed to the finals in the light middleweight (70kg) by stopping Russia’s Vlada Kuleshova in the semi-finals. Similarly, Sabina Zhaksylyk triumphed in her heavyweight (+81kg) match, showcasing the strength of the Kazakh team.
