During the handover ceremony, Muyambo stated that cancer’s emotional and financial toll on families is significant, marking organizations like KidzCan as vital resources. She underscored that this collaboration between CABS and TM Pick n Pay has previously yielded substantial donations for childhood cancer treatment, with CABS contributing US$30,000 for chemotherapy through a campaign linked to in-store transactions.
TM Pick n Pay Chief Financial Officer, Gamu Nyamuzinga, announced an additional US$80,000 donation in chemotherapy drugs, comprising US$50,000 from his company and US$30,000 from CABS. Nyamuzinga emphasized the power of collective action, stating that such collaborations significantly impact children in need.
Moreover, Nyamuzinga indicated that another US$30,000 is allocated for child welfare, specifically for food and transport costs, facilitating families’ access to treatment at Parirenyatwa Hospital. In a separate event, First Capital Bank Chief Executive Officer, Tapera Mushoriwa, reiterated the bank’s commitment to improving cancer care and supporting community needs.
