Pakistan plans to present a resolution to the United Nations accusing India and Afghanistan of terrorism support. Ambassador Munir Akram emphasized the need to counter India’s actions, while Pakistan calls for collaboration from Afghanistan following the Jaffar Express attack. The operation to rescue hostages showcased the Pakistani forces’ effectiveness in handling such incidents.
Pakistan has announced its plan to introduce a resolution in the United Nations targeting both India and Afghanistan for their alleged support of terrorism. The Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, disclosed this intention during an interview on ‘Dunya Meher Bokhari Kay Sath’, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to addressing these matters on an international stage.
Mr. Akram articulated, “Our next step is to expose India’s support for terrorism at the UN,” indicating a robust strategy to intensify Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts against India. He expressed concerns regarding the difficulties Pakistan faces when attempting to impose sanctions against India due to interference from its allies.
Moreover, Pakistan’s government has called upon the Afghan authorities to act against the perpetrators responsible for the recent Jaffar Express attack in Balochistan. Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan underscored that the attack was part of a foreign terrorist agenda, emphasizing the need for collaboration from the Taliban-led Afghan government in combating terrorism.
The Jaffar Express was attacked by terrorists near Sibi, resulting in over 400 passengers being taken hostage. Pakistani forces responded swiftly, launching an operation that concluded with the elimination of all 33 terrorists, ensuring the safety of the passengers by Wednesday. According to Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry of ISPR, 21 civilians had already lost their lives prior to the operation, with four Frontier Corps personnel also tragically martyred during the rescue efforts.
In summary, Pakistan is set to present a resolution in the UN aimed at addressing the alleged terrorist activities supported by India and Afghanistan. The urgency of this matter is underscored by recent terrorist incidents, prompting calls for enhanced cooperation from the Afghan government. As Pakistan continues to strengthen its position internationally, the focus remains on combating terrorism and ensuring national security.
