On March 14, Karyou Johnson was formally inducted as the 46th Superintendent of Grand Bassa County during a ceremony at the Grand Bassa Unification Pavilion, officiated by Liberia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Francis Sakila Nyumalin. The event attracted local leaders, dignitaries, and residents who gathered to witness the occasion.

In his inaugural speech, Superintendent Johnson committed to prioritizing critical areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and youth engagement throughout his tenure. Senator Findley pledged his support for Superintendent Johnson, encouraging collaboration with local lawmakers to tackle challenges facing the county. He remarked, “You should not be afraid of me or any other lawmaker… engage with us so we can work together.”

Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence also expressed her support for Johnson, considering his leadership pivotal for unity among local leaders. She remarked, “Grand Bassa is fortunate to have one of its own occupying the fourth-highest position in the government.” She assured Johnson of her assistance and highlighted the importance of collaboration to secure the prosperity of the county.
