Marc Marquez Triumphs at Argentina MotoGP, Extends Unbeaten Streak

Marc Marquez maintained his unbeaten streak in the 2025 MotoGP season by winning the Argentina Grand Prix, finishing ahead of his brother Alex Marquez. This victory marked his 90th career win, equating him with Angel Nieto. Marquez leads the championship standings with a 16-point advantage. The next MotoGP event will occur in Austin, Texas, from March 28 to 30.

Marc Marquez achieved another remarkable victory at the Argentina MotoGP, further extending his unbeaten streak in the 2025 season. Competing at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit, Marquez battled closely with his brother, Alex Marquez of Gresini Racing, finishing first while Alex secured second place. Franco Morbidelli from VR46 Racing completed the podium in third place.

Having previously won the season-opening Grand Prix in Thailand and the Saturday sprint at the Argentina event, Marc Marquez has maintained a firm hold on the MotoGP riders’ championship standings, now sitting 16 points clear of his brother Alex. This race marked Marc’s highly anticipated return to Argentina after a four-year absence, where he adeptly regained the lead from Alex after briefly losing it, and ultimately dominated the competition.

The Marquez siblings have created history by finishing first and second in two consecutive races, a feat not achieved by brothers in MotoGP for 76 years. Notably, Marc celebrated his 90th career victory across all classes, tying him with the legendary Angel Nieto, and he honored Nieto with a wreath inscribed with “Gracias Angel,” directing his thoughts skyward.

Reflecting on the race, Marquez expressed his joy in equaling Nieto’s record, stating that it is significant for the Spanish motorcycle community. Despite some concerns about his bike’s rear grip during the race, he persevered. After the tyre performance improved, he successfully closed in on Alex, ultimately securing a triumphant finish.

Finishing just behind Marquez was Francesco Bagnaia, a two-time MotoGP champion, in fourth place, positioning him 31 points adrift of Marc. Fabio Di Giannantonio took the fifth spot for the VR46 team. The next MotoGP race will take place at the Americas MotoGP in Austin, Texas, from March 28 to 30, 2025.

Marc Marquez has solidified his dominance in the 2025 MotoGP season with a compelling win in Argentina, remaining unbeaten thus far. His victory not only reinforces his lead in the championship but also marks a historic achievement alongside his brother Alex. Additionally, by equaling Angel Nieto’s record of 90 wins, Marquez pays tribute to a revered figure in motorcycle history, further cementing his legacy within the sport.
