CazeTV has secured sublicensing rights for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup from DAZN, planning to broadcast 39 matches live, including those featuring Brazilian teams. The coverage will extend across various platforms and social media, with extensive content production. This agreement enhances CazeTV’s relationship with FIFA and follows DAZN’s significant global investment in the tournament.
CazeTV, a Brazilian sports streaming platform managed by LiveMode and streamer Casimiro Miguel, has acquired rights to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) through a sublicensing agreement with global sports subscription service DAZN. This announcement was made via social media, confirming that CazeTV will broadcast at least 39 of the 63 matches live, including those featuring Brazilian teams, semi-finals, and the final.
The matches will be available on CazeTV’s YouTube channels and across various integrated streaming platforms, including Samsung TV Plus, Mercado Play, and Amazon Prime Video in Brazil. Four Brazilian teams, namely Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense, and Palmeiras, are set to compete in the tournament.
In addition to live broadcasts, CazeTV will offer comprehensive tournament coverage on its social media platforms, supported by dedicated teams in Brazil and the United States who will create behind-the-scenes content and match highlights. Fabio Medeiros, CazeTV’s head of content, remarked on the audience’s anticipation for this tournament and stated that it aligns with CazeTV’s commitment to delivering engaging sports content.
This agreement builds upon CazeTV’s growing partnership with FIFA, having previously secured rights to major events such as the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. CazeTV also holds rights to the 2025 UEFA Women’s European Championship.
The sublicensing deal follows DAZN’s acquisition of exclusive global rights to the CWC last December, involving a significant investment of around $1 billion. DAZN will stream all 63 CWC matches free but has pursued sublicensing deals to recover costs in key markets, including Italy, Spain, the USA, and Egypt.
DAZN’s chief executive Shay Segev expressed enthusiasm regarding the tournament, emphasizing efforts to connect Brazilian fans with innovative viewing experiences. He highlighted a goal to provide unprecedented engagement during the tournament.
Historically, FIFA faced challenges securing a broadcasting partner for the CWC due to discontent among clubs and players regarding the added workload, notably leading to formal complaints and legal actions from the players union, FIFPRO. The tournament will commence on June 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and will consist of 63 matches over 29 days, featuring 32 top clubs worldwide.
The revamped format of the CWC allows multiple team entries from most continental governing bodies, with South America’s Conmebol contributing six teams including the four from Brazil, alongside two Argentinian teams, River Plate and Boca Juniors. In contrast, Europe’s UEFA will field 12 teams in the competition.
In summary, CazeTV’s acquisition of the CWC broadcasting rights underscores a pivotal moment in Brazilian sports streaming, enhancing viewer access to major soccer events. The commitment to provide extensive coverage and engaging content indicates a strategic alignment with audience expectations. As the tournament approaches, the partnership with DAZN could also facilitate innovative viewing experiences, catering to soccer fans in Brazil and beyond.
