On Tuesday, in an effort to improve the prevailing conditions in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Qatar organized a trilateral meeting in Doha. The meeting was attended by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, along with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and President Félix Tshisekedi Tshilombo of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
During the meeting, the Heads of State acknowledged the progress achieved within the frameworks of the Luanda and Nairobi processes. They also referenced the joint East African Community (EAC) and Southern African Development Community (SADC) summit conducted on February 8, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. A pivotal outcome of this summit was the reaffirmation of all parties’ commitment to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire.
The need for continued discussions that commenced in Doha was emphasized, with the aim of establishing strong foundations for a lasting peace aligned with the objectives of the merged Luanda/Nairobi process.
