Lactalis’ CEO highlighted that the company has already invested over 710 million reais in Paraná in the past ten years. In addition to the Londrina and Carambeí sites, Lactalis operates a facility in Pato Branco, with Carambeí being the largest, employing 830 individuals, alongside 280 in Londrina and 36 in Pato Branco.
Just Food has inquired about any potential job creation stemming from this investment and the rationale for the cash injection into Brazil. This recent investment follows a previously announced expansion plan of 250 million reais in Minas Gerais, aimed at modernizing and expanding seven factories within the state. Lactalis also maintains logistics units in Contagem and an administrative office in Belo Horizonte, collectively employing 3,654 individuals.
Additional investments in Brazil include a 100 million reais initiative announced in March to improve five plants in Rio Grande do Sul, specifically in Teutônia, Tapera, Três de Maio, Santa Rosa, and Ijuí. Founded in 1933 and headquartered in Laval, France, Lactalis is renowned for its brands such as Batavo, Président, and Elegê. The company is also expanding its reach in South America, with plans to acquire Uruguay’s Granja Pocha, a producer of cheese and yogurt under the Colonial brand, which is located in Juan Lacaze, Uruguay.
