During a workshop closing ceremony at the Kenya School of Government in Mombasa, he emphasized the significance of the African Charter on Values and Principles of Public Service and Administration, advocating for collective action in building a public service characterized by excellence, trust, and equity.
Muturi stated that the charter’s objectives resonate with Article 232 of the Kenyan Constitution, which aims to enhance transparency in service delivery. The African Charter on Values and Principles of Public Service and Administration was adopted during the 16th Ordinary Session of the African Union in Addis Ababa, becoming a legally binding framework on July 23, 2016. The charter aims to elevate public service quality, combat corruption, and foster development across Africa.
During the workshop, Muturi urged participants to integrate the principles of the charter into daily public service operations, ensuring they become the foundation of governance in Kenya.
