Inflation Figures Remain Steady at High Levels The latest figures indicate that the annual inflation rate in Lima, Peru, has stabilized at 1.69% as of June 2025. This figure represents no change from May’s level, which was noted as a significant four-month high. Even though it remains steady, this inflation rate stays within the perimeters set by the Peruvian central bank, which has targeted an inflation range of 1% to 3%.
Food and entertainment prices continue to increase
Sector-Specific Insights on Price Changes Breaking down the inflation numbers, a few sectors experienced notable changes. Prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages witnessed an increase, marked at 1.49%, compared to 1.35% in May. Sectors like recreation and culture have also risen to 2.96%, from 2.92%, alongside a slight uptick in restaurant and hotel prices at 2.84%, up from 2.79%. Conversely, there were reductions in inflation rates for housing and utilities, which dipped to 0.45% from 0.68%. Transport also showed a decrease at 0.13%, a significant drop from May’s 0.95%. Similarly, education costs slightly reduced to 4.07% compared to 4.12%.
