He noted significant advancements in value addition, private sector engagement, and institutional development, especially the pivotal roles of the Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST), the State Mining Corporation (Stamico), and the Tanzania Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (TEITI). Irene Bateebe, Uganda’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, expressed her respect for Tanzania’s accomplishments in managing small-scale mining operations.
