Henry Okello Oryem, Uganda’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, discussed the flourishing relationship between Uganda and the UAE, stating, “Our relationship with the UAE has developed from strength to strength. The UAE today is the biggest foreign inward investor in Uganda.” He detailed significant initiatives, such as plans for a large international airport and a nuclear power plant to meet energy demands.
Bishop Jackson Matovu, the second bishop of Central Buganda diocese, highlighted the unity of the occasion by reflecting on the simultaneous observance of Ramadan and Lent, saying, “Amazingly, this Ramadan coincided with our Lent season, we are all fasting in the same period.” He acknowledged the ambassador’s role in fostering such unity among diverse faiths.
