Qualifying Challenges Face Marco Bezzecchi and Ai Ogura at Argentina MotoGP

Marco Bezzecchi identified qualifying as his weakest area on the Aprilia RS-GP. He qualified ninth for the Argentina GP but finished seventh in the Sprint race. Ai Ogura also faced challenges, qualifying 15th after an early crash. Both riders expressed hopes for improved performance in future races.

Marco Bezzecchi has acknowledged that qualifying remains his most significant challenge with the Aprilia RS-GP motorcycle. He qualified ninth for the Argentinian Grand Prix but managed to secure seventh place in Saturday’s Sprint race, which brought him some level of satisfaction despite the initial qualifying struggle.

Regarding his performance, Bezzecchi remarked, “Starting ninth was not the best, but still in qualifying I’m struggling a bit – it’s my weakest point, let’s say.” He noted that he exhibited a strong pace during the Sprint, particularly in braking, which enabled him to execute successful overtakes. He expressed hope for improvement in the next race.

In contrast, Ai Ogura, a satellite Aprilia rider, faced a challenging day as well. Despite previous expectations following his double top-five finishes in Thailand, Ogura finished in 15th place, just ahead of teammate Raul Fernandez. He expressed disappointment regarding his qualifying performance, mentioning a crash in Q1.

Ogura stated, “I improved a little bit from [Friday], but it wasn’t enough for Q2 and I had a crash in Q1.” Despite his struggles, he felt positive about the race and is optimistic about performing better in the next event, anticipating the demands of a longer race distance.

In summary, Marco Bezzecchi continues to grapple with qualifying challenges on the Aprilia RS-GP, while Ai Ogura experiences difficulties despite recent successes. Both riders maintain a hopeful perspective on improvement in future races, demonstrating resilience in the face of competitive pressures.
